The City of Chico is rich in Native American and Gold Rush history. Home to Sierra Nevada Brewery and Chico State University, Chico contains one of the largest municipal parks in the nation, Bidwell Park. Chico is also the most populous city in Butte County, California. Also known as the “City of Trees,” Chico has been designated a Tree City for 27 years by the National Arbor Day Foundation.

The North State is home to one of the most diverse and lush tree populations in the country. Because of this, it takes a lot of maintenance to keep all those trees happy and healthy. About Trees wants to help preserve and maintain aesthetically pleasing trees, while keeping you, your family and property safe.

Take a look at your property. Cal Fire states that proper vegetation clearance to 100 feet dramatically increases the chance of your house surviving a wildfire. This defensible space also provides for firefighter safety when protecting homes during a fire.

Have you ever wondered what that weird growth on your tree is or what kind of bug is burrowing in the bark? How about whether or not that branch hanging over the driveway needs to come down? Are you supposed to water trees like you do everything else?
